I am going to be writing a poem because this is what I know best, or think to know LOL
It was a future for me!
Now, it is all a dream
No smiles from them
Hugs are forbidden
My path is hidden
Where can days lead me
Once, home with my eyes I could see
Family, friends and them who past
All forgotten with this new home I breath
Today, writes a new future for me
I stand tall and sharp
No tears! No soft heart!
Waiting for the time to pass back
Maybe, my dream will come at least
In war, no peace.
Darkness with the sun like a glass
Empty, but half full with hatred and slaughter
I breath air cold as home
the word that I can't use alone
home is a memory to me
I shake my head back to reality
Awake my being to succeed
I give myself a push
Start strong to end strong, I see.
Tomorrow, decisions will come to ask me
Where my future will be?
I was a girl with dreams
Now, goals and achievements
My life can only be.
AHHHHH! I can't believe this is the end. I want to remember you as a lifelong friend. (LOL it rhymes too!) I really will miss you and this poem really suits you. Guess what? I wrote a poem too; it describes my change before and after. I really do think your journey has been amazing and really worth it so far. Good luck in college, I know you will rock out and do great things in life!!!
ReplyDeleteAww! Sarah you are making me blush. Don't be afraid I am coming to UNC and we're going to become roomBUDDIES haha
DeleteThis is so funny. I just read Zoe's blog, and it was a poem, and it kind of relates to yours. It describes the before, and the after of something. It, too, begins with "it was", which is crazy! Your poem is a nice transition poem, and I agree with what Sarah said. "Your journey has been amazing and really worth it so far".!!
ReplyDeleteThis was fantastic! I think the poem describes the constant change we'll go through in life's journey. I wish you all the luck in college and I'm excited for what the future and life will bring you!
ReplyDeleteThis is great! It makes me really wanna hear more about your story (which I've kinda always wanted to hear but have been too afraid to ask). I'm trying to paint my own story for you and it's not really working... but nonetheless, this is so honest and open and I love it.
ReplyDeleteI've loved getting the chance to know you Muna! You always provide such interesting insight and perspectives that I never would've thought of. You taught me so much about your culture without judging me when I would ask you a billion questions last year in TOK hahaha. I love how open and true to yourself you are, you really are awesome.
also, the video that this picture is from is so touching.
DeleteMuna-
ReplyDeleteBest of luck next year; stay as inquisitive as you were this year!
